Inside Story

Image may contain: possible text that says 'A reporter once asked A.J. Muste, a Dutch- born American clergyman and pacifist who protested against the Vietnam War, "Do you really think you are going to change the policies of this country by standing out here alone at night in front of the White House with a candle?" Muste replied softly, "Oh I don't do this to change the country. I do this so the country won't change me."'

    1. Now that’s got me scratching my head, Curt … think what I’m getting at is that values dear to me seem under threat in wider society so that it becomes harder to reach a consensus and to say anything, er, useful or helpful. I feel like a fence-sitter. Something like that, anyway.

      1. The things you and I value are definitely under threat, Dave. I’ve never seen you hesitate to express an opinion, however, Dave, and that is more important now than ever. –Curt

  1. Reblogged this on Opher's World and commented:

I believe that those who are not actively trying to make things better are allowing it to get worse!!
